Several years back I had the great opportunity to work on a student project with seven other talented developers. We called the project "The Grind". Over the course of nine months we made a prototype that we were very proud of. Here are a couple of videos explaining the game and showcasing gameplay.
While I worked with the Grind, I had many different tasks and roles to perform. Moving from role to role helped to grow my talents as a generalist. After a while, I started to shift into more problem solving roles, supporting the team wherever I was needed most. I really grew into the role of a Technical Artist and have pursued it as my focus ever since. I enjoy working in many different pieces of the development pipeline, so being a Technical Artist comes naturally. I learned a lot while working on The Grind, and maybe one day we will all rally back together to make a sequel.
